Thomas Jefferson FACT program

When should I submit the application for Thomas Jefferson 2010 summer FACT program? Is it too early to start application right now?

Greenland, if you want to start in 2010, the application will be available online either late August or early September 2009. You want to fill it out and get all your materials in as soon as possible, so keep checking the website, and clicking on the link to fill out the application. The first review for FACT applications will be in late September or early October 2009, I forget which.

Good luck!

Is it too late to send application for summer this year right now? They still have spots left? if possible, I will apply for admission this summer.

I can almost guarantee you that the program is filled, but don't take my word for it. Give them a call! They may also still be taking wait-list applications. I don't know what their numbers looked like this year.

That means I can't apply for 2010 summer online until late August this year?

If you want to start in May 2010 -- a year from this coming May -- the application won't be available until August. Assuming, of course, that they do it the way they've always done it. This year, they got swamped with applications, so it might get moved up to an earlier date, but that's just my speculating.

My advice would be to go ahead and set up your login for the online application:

Then, keep checking to see when the option to apply to the FACT program reappears in the summer of 2009. (It's probably still an option at this moment, because they say they will accept FACT apps. for 2009's starting class until April. I doubt they have any openings, but it couldn't hurt to find out. Also, if you apply now and your prereqs are already finished, all you would need to do is update your file next year if you don't get in this year. Just a thought.)

I kept checking that banner.jefferson.edu url last summer, and soon as FACT reappeared as one of the programs on the application, I submitted mine. Good thing, because they got so many applications, they were doing interviews right up to the middle of December for the 2nd admissions review period. If you've got your stuff done, including the GRE or GMAT, you want to be in that first admissions review period (deadline September 15)!

Thanks a lot for your detailed reply!

I notice on their website they will accept apps. for 2009's starting class until April. My problem is I haven't got pre-courses ready (i'll take two pre-reqs in spring and finish them in May. BUt FACT starts in May). So I'm not sure if I can send in application at this moment. They probably don't consider application without pre-reqs almost done. I emailed the coordinator to set up an meeting(I have to confirm with her my pre-reqs I need to take besides those I think I can transfer from previous degree). She didn't reply yet. Also, I haven't had references yet. I don't need GRE (GPA is above 3.2).

Definitely check with them. My sense is that you'll need to wait until next year, but it NEVER hurts to ask and make sure. :)

Best of luck!

I just had my interview on jan 15th & was accepted (yay!), and was told there were only 3 spots remaining, which would probably be filled this week. So you may have to wait for Aug. Sorry!

Congrats! I'm actually surprised there are 3 spots left -- good for you for snagging the 4th spot!

See you in May!

Congrats to you too, AtomicWoman! Are you going to the "Accepted Students Day" on March 14th? I'm so excited to meet everyone.

How did you hear about Accepted Students Day? I haven't heard a peep from Jeff about that, although I was expecting to, since I went to it last year, when I was originally accepted to the APW program.

I'm not sure if I'll go, since I've already had the "grand tour"! LOL

Niki told me about it at the end of my interview - I'm hoping there will be more information soon . What was it like last year?
