Third time taking the TEAS V

What section is the most difficult for you?

I've purchased a ton of resources for various purposes/practice (i'm going hardcore, my goal is get to get the 90's). So I can tell you what I like...I haven't taken the test yet granted, but I can give an idea on how how I'm studying....I bought everything from Amazon...I returned some of the books I didn't care for though.

The ATI book is helpful in that it explains what type of questions to expect. However, I would recommend buying/researching resources on areas you had previously struggled with and use those to add to your studying.

Here's what I saw:

-I throughly enjoyed the explanation of the Science section from the Princeton Review: Nursing School Entrance Exams, I found it definitely gave the best review for the sciences hands down. However, it gave a very weak reading comprehension/English review. I have Physiology remaining for my pre-reqs, I found it broke this broke it down well for me. If you need more help on the science that what this book provides, I would research the specific science section you struggle with.

The McGraw Hill: Nursing School Entrance Exams was decent, the science portion wasn't as detailed as the Princeton Review. The reading section was also really easy compared to the ATI guide I feel. But this gave a better general overview of all of the sections compared to the Princeton Review book. Remember it's not centered on the Teas (but nursing exams overall) so it'll review/not review things that will be on the Teas (I wouldn't rely on this to study for the math section, but it gives a great overview of the science topics on the Teas). The McGraw was okay in my opinion.

If you REALLY REALLY struggle with the math I found the book David's Basic Math Review For Nurses really good. It really breaks down the simple, simple AND I mean simple math that we forget due to relying on calculators for so long. I found the ATI had a strong math section personally (in terms of explaining and breaking the math down).

The Trivium Teas Version 5 is quite short. It gives a light review of the subject followed by questions. I found the math section did not match the ATI's guide of the type of math questions to expect. I was disappointed by the book's inclusion of Geometry based questions. For being a book centered on the Teas, the book shouldn't be covering topics that aren't tested on. It's decent, I wouldn't recommend it. I felt the math section was a bit more challenging than the ATI guide.

I knew that Barron was one of the best when studying for the GRE. The Barron Nursing School Entrance Exam was forgettable. The review sections were too short for my liking. I haven't really used it. I felt the same way towards the Kaplan Nursing School Entrance Exams.

Ace The Teas Test (version 5) (By exam Review Press) is a good Teas test-centered guide that gives a decent overview of what to expect on the Teas. I found the sections challenging, so I personally found this to be good practice for practicing for the Teas. But, sadly there's a bunch of errors in the book.

5 Teas Practice Tests by McGraw-Hill is good for practice based questions. I kinda wish the book included content review as well. Its a good way to supplement the ATI guide when studying. I found the Reading Comprehension section to be easier than the ATI guide though. I was disappointed. I will definitely be using this though.

Math and some parts of science are my weakest areas. I have the ATI book and the McGraw Hill 5 practice tests book. I also went to the library today and checked out math for nurses Barron's nursing school entrance entrance exams book and one other book. I'm trying to score into at least the 70s since my program only requires a 65.8 to get in. I'm really trying to go hard with studying this time like you said I got various books to help me with different things.

The science is tricky for me too (all of it). My biggest issue so far is the reading comprehension, however no sources really cover it better than the ATI guide (which is why I spent forever looking for a Teas book guide better than the ATI, its non-existent). I've always been stronger in math than reading though.

Again I did like the Princeton book ($15 on Amazon), I know I watched Youtube videos for past classes (Biology 2 and Anatomy) which did help. If you can rent some books like Chemistry for Dummies, etc. that can be beneficial as well. That's what I am doing for Biology because I forgot everything! But you seem to be on a good path!

Yea I've been on the hunt for the Davis book at my library and I may return the Barron book to the library I skimmed through it and it doesn't seem like its going to be very helpful.

I accidentally spelled the title of the book incorrectly (I apologize) Its call Davis's Basic Math Review: A Step-By-Step Solutions. It does't cover the Teas math questions, but if you have problems multiplying, dividing, bath math functions, etc. I would recommend it. I thought Ace the Teas had a decent Math review compared to the ATI guide (which I enjoyed the most). This covers the types of math question's you'll encounter.

No problem! It doesn't compare to the ATI in terms of helpfulness (in terms of content review), but I did find it to give decent practice in preparation.

I'm taking it a third time in a few weeks. But the second time I did have some repeat questions it freaked me out because I was unsure if I got them wrong the first time and I was getting a second chance or if it was just a coincidence.
