Back in the "old days" we didn't get orientation other than a day to fill out paperwork, a day or 2 of P & P review, and a half shift,, if that, to learn where supplies are kept. Nursing school was different then. I feel bad for new grads that I feel are getting the shaft. Right now, long orientations are gone, facilities expect schools to train them, schools are focused on teaching to pass the NCLEX, and expect the facility to give a robust orientation. All in absolutely minimal time. No one wins
New grad getting flung into the real world after nursing school.
