The future of NP's

Published

Hello everyone.

I have been doing quite a bit of research about the NP profession, and it seems to be one the has a bright future--the growing trend for NP's to work completely independently, the decline in Family Physicians, the large chain stores that are going to start employing on-site NP's, etc....I don't see many downsides to this career. Am I missing something?

Where do you see the future of advanced practice nurses going? (CNM, CNS, NP, and CRNA....I'd love to hear everyone's opinion on this)

Specializes in Nephrology, Cardiology, ER, ICU.

I am an adult health CNS and see many more specialty areas opening up to APNs including many dealing with the aging population.
