The application process

Published

As a recent grad I am ready to start applying for some jobs, however I am wondering about many hospitals' online application process. Is this the most professional way to go about this? Should I really copy and paste my resume, or fax one in? Better yet, should I avoid the online process all together and snail mail or hand in a hard copy in person? I know first impressions count and I am trying to land a much-coveted job. I want to do it perfectly!

if you are talking about going around the online process to hand in an application and resume to someone in hr (basically break their rules and bypass the filter) that is not a good thing to do. hr people will red flag you as a no hire or will just throw your application and resume in the trash. they put up filters online for a reason.... they (hr) do not want to read resumes or the applications of candidates that do not meet the required or preferred qualifications.

on the other hand, if you want to drop off your resume to a hiring nurse manager, then that is a great idea. especially, if you can find the contact information for one that is receptive and willing to interview you on the spot. gl!
