Texas Childrens

Hi,

Ive been a nurse for almost 7 years with about 6 years of PICU experience (almost 2yrs of Neo/peds transport). Ive applied for the PICU and CVICU positions posted on Texas Childrens site but have not recieved not even a phone call. Does anyone know anything about their PICU or CVICU? Has anyone been hired with TCH recently?

I was recently hired at Texas Children's. I applied, and they called me back about a week later. I don't know anything about their PICU or CVICU though. Do you live in the Houston area? We just relocated here, and I found that before we moved and before I had a Houston address I was having trouble getting people to call me back.

No I live in Georgia and Im trying to relocate, but I need a job first

Nikki,

You might just want to pick up the phone and speak to someone in HR at TCH. The economy has forced even nonprofits to scale back the hiring of RNs so they really want those who "want" to be there. I completely understand your need to have a job before coming to Texas. It's a big move to come across the country, establish yourself, and start a new job in a new place. Best of luck to you.

It's warm outside...yaay!

They rarely hire and people don't seem to leave there often. Well qualified people have hard times getting interviews there. It seems like you have great experience so I'm guessing it's the economy right now. I have a friend in admin there that used to work NICU and they haven't hired into the NICU in months.
