I got in The new VA program that sends VA nurses to the Army Medical School Anesthesia Program accepted 3 nurses this year and will except 8 next year. I start in June. Texas here I come :balloons: Any advice on the Army program? I will not be joining the Army, I will only have 3 years VA commitment and no student loans to pay off when I get out. WOOHOO

Congratulations to you on your acceptance. I used to live in Texas and loved it. I miss it like crazy, especially with all this winter weather here in Iowa. My dream someday is to move south again and get out of this cold and snowy climate.

Great news and good luck!!! :rotfl: Just be certain that the commitment to the Army is just the three years. Usually, it is an 8 year commitment. Three years active duty and five years inactive-meaning they can call you back up for service during those five years,so read the fine print. Congrats again, and good luck with everything
You misunderstood my post. I work for the VA Health System. I have NO commitments to the army or any branch of the military. My three years will be done at the VA of my choice or as close as I can get to home. The VA bought slots in the US Army CRNA program as a staff development opportunity for its ICU nurses.
