Temple's New to Practice Program

Hi. I applied for Temple's New to Practice Program a few weeks ago and just received word that my initial application was accepted. In the FAQ's, it says that applicants will have to take competency exams after they are selected. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this program and if these competencies are just basically things we learned in nursing school.

Also, if anyone has completed this program, how is it? Temple is one of my dream hospitals to work for so I'm very excited and curious about this program.

Thanks so much!

Hi all just wondering who has completed the N2P and can discuss how the program works. Apparently, it's currently part-time. Any info or update helps also is this a paid program?

I am interested to know exactly the same. Wasn't sure how the part time thing works. Went for an interview Jan. 8, and anxiously waiting for response.

Hello. For anyone searching for info, yes, the N2P positions are part-time, benefits eligible. I will be interviewing next week for the Aug 22, 2016 start date. I plan to ask when new nurses are eligible to transition to full time or if they have to apply separately for full-time positions after the year-long residency.

Hi everyone, after applying to Temple N2P nursing program, I passed the preliminary test and interviewed with 2 managers. I chose ICU as my top choice. Can anyone tell me more about the hiring process? How likely am i to be hired after interviewing? How many people do they interview vs hire? I have no nursing or CNA experience outside of my clinicals.

Thanks!

Did you ever get a job at Temple? I interviewed for ICU but didn't hear back, everyone else for Medsurg did.
