:bowingpurHello, I need help with time management issues during my clinicals does anybody have any ideas?

Specializes in Family Nurse Practitioner.

Can you be a little more specific with where you are running into trouble? For me Day 1 with new clients is always stressful and not as efficient as it could be so that night I go over the tasks I will have to complete and re-think the time frames where necessary. That way hopefully you will have some leeway built in the next day for the inevitable unexpected crisis. Much of it just takes practice and learning to grab the vitals machine first, lol.

Well, since you think you are some1hotterthanme you should be able to figure it out on your own.....J/K.....:nuke:

What areas do you need help with specifically? And what do you mean by teetering on the edge? What can we help you with?

Thank You for laughing with me about my screen name. I heard some else use it and Ithought it was catchy so I bit it and used it for myself. But any I think i'll be ok i've been talking with people and they gave me some good ideas to put into practice. My main issue is the time management when I come to helping my patient with there ADL's in the Am, apparently I have been taking too long, I'm a Perfectionist you know, so I have clinical tomorrow and I will try to be "Speedy Gonzales" and set up my patient that is able to do for themself first then see the more needier patient, also make a detailed check list of the things I need to do for my patient and check off accordingly.

Thank you so much for listening..:typing

I yea I've been learning about vital sign machine chase, I made a reply , I did'nt quite know how to do it so check out my other quote thingy??

I know what you mean, I am sort of OCD about some things so prioritizing and time management is key. When I was a CNA I would have at least 12 people to care for and I really had to not get wrapped up in making to big of a deal about the little things. Then if I had time I would go back and make sure I added my "finishing touches".

In time you will find where it is you can skimp and where you have to apply yourself.

Good luck hot stuff....LOL
