TEAS vs. CNET

I took the CNET in December and was in the 99 percentile. In January, I found out I was accepted to the nursing program (yeah) for the fall of 2004.

So today, I get a packet in the mail with the schedule for orientation week, and on Wednesday we are scheduled to take the TEAS test and on Friday the Self Assessment and Critical Thinking Test.

My question: Is this test (TEAS) similar to the CNET? Or should I be thinking about checking out a study guide?

Thanks. :uhoh21:

Stupid question I'm sure, but what is CNET? I didn't have to take any placement tests so it's all foreign to me:imbar

PS I noticed if you scroll down to the bottom of this page, there are "similar threads" and there's info about the TEAS there :) HTH

I took the TEAS test as part of the application process to get in my ADN program. I am not familiar with the CNET but I will tell you that I think any review would be a waste of time and $. I scored very well on the test...most areas in the 95-99 percentiles. If you scored so well on the CNET I would not even worry about it for a minute. Most of what was on the TEAS test would be very hard to study for except maybe the Algebra part. It was alot of reading comprehension and following directions. There was even a part where you had to read a menu and then say what was the least expensive item on the menu...another problem said to draw a circle, then draw a square around your circle and then draw another square around that . Then you had to choose which of the answers they gave you looked most like your drawing. DO NOT sweat it...I acually had some fun with it! Why are they having you take it after already being accepted? Just wondering...good luck to you, let us know how it turns out.

Thanks Molly.

I haven't a clue. I'm gonna look over the algebra part of my sample CNET just for a refresher.

I have A&P and psych with a young lady who started her clinicals in January. I will ask her - but the next time I will see her will be at the A&P final.

SCMomof3: The CNET was part of my application process - included math, algebra, analagies, reading comprehension, etc.

Thanks all for your time!

Hi Mauser,

Not sure if it will help you any, but I've attached a "very long" post I submitted in March after I took the TEAS Test. I'm not sure what the CNET is, but it sounds very similar to the TEAS - if you scored a 99 on that I don't think I'd worry to much about it. As I mentioned in the attached post - only real problem most of us faced were the time limits on each section. Wishing you the Best of Luck. Hope this helps a bit. SusanNC

I been out of school for many years, now. I'm not good with English.

Can you tell me what to look for, for the English selection of the exam?

Math?/ Science?
