What's up guys?
I was wondering how many were taking the TEAS test this fall and/or Winter, and if you plan to take it more than once? My nursing adviser says that it is good for us to take the entrance exam more than once to get the highest score possible and so we can be more competitive in the application process. I am taking it at least twice once in October and in January. Also, for those who have already taken it, what is the best study guide or aide for the teas. I have Kaplan's Nursing School Entrance Exam book and have found it helpful. Oh and Shout out to all those who hope to start NS Fall 2011!!!!

re taking the test can't hurt you. I used Teas study guide to prepare for the exam, also, people here have recommended buying practice tests on ATI website to prepare for the exam. I passed the teas with first try, but did not re take it again to get a better grade. Every school is different. Some school will accept students based on GPA and higest Teas score, some school are just lottery based. All the schools I applied to were lottery based, as long as I met the GPA requirements and pass the TEAS, then I would be able to enter for the drawing. So my luck is as good as other students. If the school you are applying is not lottery based, re taking the teas to get a better score wouldn't hurt. hope this helps!
Many people have suggested that I buy the online test and I think I will buy the $35.00 package.

Pat - just make sure you purchase the correct version. Also, make sure you are able to take the test multiple times. The schools in my area only allow a single attempt each semester (once in Fall and once in Spring). So even if we apply at more than once school, only the single TEAS score is used. However, even if it is retaken in the following semester, only the highest score is used - that is assuming it is the same version of the TEAS the following semester. I just took Version 5 in March and since it was the newest version and first time the schools used it, everyone regardless of prior attempts started with a "clean slate".
Just make sure to be clear about the policies and procedures for the school(s) you are applying to.
Which package did you get? Which should I get? Do you think I will be ok with taking it fall and spring since I'm applying for NS admission fall 2011? Thanks for the help.

Hey guys!!
I'm currently a medical assistant, beginning my prereqs in the fall. I know very little about the nursing program itself, as I have not yet attended an information session or even offically changed my major to Nursing. What are the TEAs and when do you take them? What type of questions does it ask? Any info is appreciated! =)

Hello, I have taken the teas test twice. Unfortunately, I didn't get accepted to my school of preference and the new school I applied to is making me take the teas test(again) with them;I plan to test at the end of July.I found both the Kaplan and ATI books helpful. From my experience, some of the questions are just a test of your knowledge on the material;try not to over think the questions. The test was made for you to pass, don't worry, you will do fine!
