do you have to know formulas like for the volume of a cube, area of a circle or do they give you the formulas and you plug in the #'s????

No formulas are given. No calculator can be used. Math is one the must detailed, yet common sense, basic knowledge section of the Teas. Please know your math, all of it from ATI TEAS Study guide.

The math on the exam is basic algebra. The most difficult problem you’ll encounter is one where you will have to solve an equation for the variable X.
You’re not given much time to work the problems out.
Here is what I did and had about 7 minutes left after completing the Math section:
You will have problems like:
10.27
129.48
351.06
+ 217.59
If you add up the far right column, you get 30, right? Begin looking for answers that end in 0. If you have two, work the next column. Generally, I didn’t have to ever go further than two columns. Speed is the key!
