TCU Accelerated Nursing Program - Advice

Hello All,

I was wondering if there was anyone who is currently enrolled or has completed the accelerated program could post their opinion about it? I am trying to figure out if I want to take this route or the traditional one. I am married and have a 20 month old and just want to see if there is any hope of completing this program successfully. Thanks!

I graduated from one of the first of the ABT classes. A classmate of mine had a baby days before we started classes. Others had older babies and toddlers, even older kids. It is doable, but you will work very, very hard. Hopefully your DH is understanding and will help out a lot.

Personally, I would recommend the accelerated route over the traditional because you get the schooling out of the way quicker, then can get to your real education...on the job! The program is fast and furious, and I think every last person in my class wanted to quit at one time or another, but we did it and you can too! If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

I have decided to not post that, but send a personal message

ok. I guess I can't do that for some reason... I'm not sure why.

my original message:

Hello. I have an odd ball question for Purple Scrubs since you have graduated the program. I hate to ask it, but in the end I have to be real with myself.

Was the drug screening for the nursing program a hair follicle screening or urine analysis? This step has been a big one in my life, and I admit as the start date approaches I grow a little more nervous. I've been disciplined in the past 10 months, but my attitude before that was much more carefree. I know the hair follicle testing goes back as far as 15 months, even further depending on what sources you read.

Thanks for the help if you are willing to share.

Sorry I did not respond sooner, I did not see your reply. I think you have to have a certain # of posts to be able to PM (maybe 15?)

The drug screen for my class was a urine screen, but of course they could have changed it since My class started.
