Talk to someone for free??

Published

Hello, I'm trying to post this before making any big decisions. I haven't been too successful during school. So that makes me a bit depressed and gives me anxiety esp because I don't have any close family members and not one friend at all. I use Facebook and other things but not as often because I try to focus on school until it's all over with. I really would like to find someone on here who may be interested in getting to know each other. Someone i could just talk alto and I hope could be a mentor even help tutor a bit. If you're interested please let me know. I don't mind adding on fb. I just applied for school so it's still thoughts of what if I should even attempt to finish school.

Either way, I would suggest checking out the resources provided by your school, whether you are currently enrolled in high school or college. If you are in high school, talk with your guidance counselor. If you currently go to a college, see if your college has a counseling/therapy center, as many places will provide free access to mental health services. That would give you an avenue to talk about some of your depression, anxiety, and fears. They could probably also direct you to the different resources you can use at the college to figure out your academic plan, to gain academic skills, and to get free tutoring.

I second using your school's resources! Most (all maybe) US universities/colleges provide counseling at no charge for students. Are there any peer helpers? Peer tutors? Being social and having an online friend is nice but it would be better to be social outside of the internet. Maybe you can even talk to a teacher you like - he/she can give you study help or tutoring?

Hi- I know the lonely feeling when no one responds to your posts so I thought I'd pop in. I haven't even begun nursing school myself yet but I'd be glad to I guess offer emotional support sometimes or whatever. I'm scared myself! I'm sure you can't be doing so badly that it's not worth it to stay in school or you would have been kicked out already :) have hope

I just graduated nursing school. I'm feeling you....did not get super good grades in NS but I passed. Definitely on my own.....no study buddies, and when I made the attempt I felt shunned from the circle. Now I am thinking of placing a post on our classes group page to see if anyone would like to study for NCLEX-RN with me. I feel it might help me pass. I think it helps to talk these things out with someone that is in the same situation as you. Probably won't get a reply.
