Are you talking about the NCLEX? That is a national test, so it does not matter which state you take it in.

I am currently a senior in Indiana and plan on moving West as soon as I graduate (August) I was just wondering what I will need to do in order to get my license in the state that I choose? My school told me to take it in Indiana for Indiana and transfer it but that seems like it would take too much time. So how do I go about taking it here for say Washington for example?
when I refered to "take it in Indiana" I meant take the NCLEX

What I'm told is take the NCLEX wherever you'd like, but apply for licensure in the state you'll be working in after graduation.
Applying for a license in the state you're getting your education in only to have it endorsed in the state you'll be working in does sound like wasted time and fees.
