Take First Job or Wait

So yesterday I was offered a job in the department I work and I am thinking about taking it. I called the ICU at the hospital I work and they said that they would get back to me on Monday and they heard good things so far. I applied at another hospital in the system and I've not heard back from them. That unit is kind of unique because they will rotate us through palliative/med-surg, speciality ICU, and the speciality med-surg.

All positions are part-time and I am fine with that because the tuition reimbursement is the same either way for a nursing degree.

So basically, jobs are tough and I am thinking of taking the first job offer. It's nights and I like nights. I don't know when I need to accept or decline either. So I don't know.

An option might be to do my BSN and work here part-time while I apply for MSN CNM programs. I would get to touch base with a lot of patients and provide a lot of patient education in an ER. Which would look good on applying to Frontier. It would also require quite a bit of collaboration because I would need to work with a variety of skill levels and different specialities like pcts, paramedics, radiology techs, and respiratory therapists. I also know that there is a potential for the ICU that I am ranked 4th and HR decides they can only hire 3 so I would be left with no job then. Whereas the teaching for the ICU happens during the day usually.

My long term goals are to become a CNM/Women's Health NP while still occasionally working as a nurse somewhere. Ideally, I'd work in a clinic in the inner city. I don't know if that is possible to still work as an RN as a CNM given the demands of the job but I am kind of crazy and I like to work a lot. I averaged 36 to 48 hours a week during school. I also want to eventually become a clinical instructor and work with new students.

My other desire was to work in a burn unit but those jobs rarely happen. I love wounds though. We have an unofficial burn unit at the major hospital and they rarely hire. I've seen 2 job postings in the past two years.

It's all real now and I am nervous. I haven't tested yet and they are all aware that I am a new grad.
