SWIC 2014

I've applied and am waiting for acceptance into the 2014 Nursing Program at SWIC. Is anyone else waiting to get in?

I have Mon Wed evenings.

I tested out out of both Clinical Calculations and Medical Terminology. The Clinical Calculations test was not super-easy, but it was not super-hard, either. It's mostly a matter of practice. I spent 3 weeks practicing problems every day with a workbook and the test wasn't so bad. There was only one tricky problem, I thought.

The Medical Terminology test was an old final from one of the classes. It was very fair, but not super easy.

I tested out of calculations but decided to take it any way just to cover my butt. I practiced the problems but it was from researching online not from experience.

Thanks for the responses. I tested out but I'm still taking the class TR mornings. I'm available anytime for studying. Is anyone using WIA funds or know anything about it?

I am going through WIA. Are you looking into doing it? Or are you already?

What is WIA?

WIA is the workforce investment act for funding for training for the unemployed/underemployed. I've been to orientation and turned in the required firms. Now the next meeting is to do a budget. Does that mean it's been approved?

I believe you have a few more steps but there are two avenues with WIA and I may be on a different one then you are. I know that I went to the orientation and had several more meetings before I got actually approved. They will have you sign what is called an ITA that you have to take to the SWIC Selsius office to have them sign it and that is when you should actually be approved. Who is your caseworker?
