Sustainability

It is disheartening to see so much waste in the hospitals.  I am becoming very interested in sustainability in the hospital and was wondering if anyone can share their hospitals sustainability practices regarding recycling and decreasing single use plastic items.

    I think you should probably look into the history of patient care items.  It's my understanding that re-usable items were swapped to single use primarily due to the costs associated with resterilization of reusable items.

    That said, our hospital has recently started recycling pulse ox probes, apparently the sensors are quite expensive and can be reused in a new probe..
