Surg Tech

I wanted so badly to become an RN, but i can not seem to pass college algebra. I had to start at the bottom, beginning algebra and i got out with a C. Then went on to intermediate & had to drop out because of grades. It also took me 2 semesters to get out of A&P with a passing grade. I made an A in Medical Term & Abnormal Psy, and a B in First Responder. Surgical Tech seems to be the new route I will have to take. I should also add that I am 48 and have been out of school for 30 years. Has anyone else had this kind of problem?

I can somewhat relate to you. I too had to start from the very bottom of math and work my way up slowly. I did manage to pass them but it was very hard for me because math is not my best subject at all...But if you are determined enough to be a nurse than you can do it.

Perhaps there is a class you can take to help review the kind of math you are having trouble with. I too, had to start at the bottom..and found myself getting tutored by a younger student who was willing to help me. With her help I got through college alegebra class that I needed in order to get into nursing. I agree with the post above - if you want to be a nurse...you will find a way to do whatever it is to get there. It took me 6 years from start to finish to become a nurse. I knew it was what I wanted to do and even though I was thrown some curveballs in my life during that time...that was one that I chose not to strikeout on. Good Luck to you! :heartbeat:heartbeat
