Thanks Tweety

Stars glad your injuries weren't worse, hope the finger heals soon

Dianah that seems awfully hot given that we're only partway through June

NJ22 glad she wasn't hurt too badly

Did some bird watching yesterday but didn't see many birds. Ran some errands and had lunch with dad as usual. Did the laundry. Exercised in the evening. Overall a fairly quiet day

Today will be the reader at church. After church will do the cooking for the week, and will make Rice Krispie treats with M&Ms for the church pride party this evening

Quite a bit cooler today, mid 70s, rain in the morning but should ease up by the afternoon

Good morning!

Hi Joe, have a good day!

Our rainy season has started but unfortunately to the west of us and it isn't expected to rain here this week until Tuesday which is unfortunate as we are listed as "extreme drought" which is one step down from "exceptional". Temps will be in the upper 80's but our humidity is so high it adds some to feeling.

Nothing much going on. Got up at 5AM and stayed up. Not feeling too tired but wanted to sleep a bit more. Will so some cooking and bring dinner to best friend. Since he's low carb, I'm making chicken thighs in an Italian sauce.

Going to hot yoga soon.

I'm confused about which day of the week it is, but I guess since there is no Monday post, it must be Sunday? ("If It's Tuesday It Must Be Belgium" ....never have seen that movie!)

So it is about to become noontime. "They" say it is going to get up to 98 degrees today, but I think it will most likely reach 100 degrees. There are clouds and sun, and a breeze, but other than taking Tinker around the yard, I won't be going out there. and there are some non-strenuous things I can do inside towards moving along to 'THE MOVE". I can congregate things into piles for future packing, and I can toss out a lot of picky-pooky things I don't need to save. Maybe have a collection of things I can call The "SALAVATION ARRMAY" to come and pick up this week.

I decided to remove all my bandages today to see how things were progressing, and it's a good thing I did, because the parts that were tight FORCED the fluids under my skin to fill the areas where it wasn't tight! My left index finger is still swollen and doesn't want to bend much. I found a blue ring of bruising around the middle joint of the left finger, but it doesn't hurt and I can bend that finger without pain. My ring finger and little finger also can bend without hurting, but I can't use that hand to do much of any kind of lifting because then my wrist feels the strain. So I am much better than I was, but it's not as good as it will be. HOWEVER I am not as damaged as I thought I might still be. So although I don't dare get in the shower to wash my hair and later use the blow-dryer, who the heck is going to see me? I'll just put on a headband to keep the sides of my hair off my face, and if it gets intolerably hot, I can put the silliest little ponytail round what hairs on the back of my head will accept being corralled, and to heck with it! I have no one to impress!

Tinker is patiently waiting for me to make some getting dressed moves, so here I go!

Wandering here and there to box books, some DVD movies, my tapes from ages ago. I do need to look into getting one of those things you can stack a few boxes on, to transport them from one place to another. (a 'trolley'? I dunno, but 'you know whut I meen, Vern!') I know I've told you I don't work in a linear manner; I seem to get more accomplished if I follow my whims. It all gets done in the end anyway.

I sent a text message to my friend J to NOT worry about moving out the bed in "my" room. I had said I would just work with the mattress on the floor, but I started remembering my age, my GYPSIES, and realized I would be better off having that bed stay where it is, because it will be a full week before the POD arrives with my bed in it; meanwhile I can figure out what to do with and where to put the bed that occupies that space now. When the POD gets to their house, I will have time to unload it, and set up my own bed. I HOPE J got my text and hasn't had someone move that bed already, because then I'll have to figure out Plan C or D. 😵‍💫

Well now I have the whim to go to where the kitchen stuff is set out , so I can separate what can be boxed for a future kitchen of my own, and what items I will have to put in my car. I have a new Keurig coffee maker, smaller (and certainly newer!) than the one I've been using the past 3, 4, or 5 years. THEY DON"T EVEN DRINK COFFEE! (Imogene that!) <porpoisely mis- spelled ;>)

Here I go again---------

I started off with all kinds of energy, that sort of went phthh after noon. We were down at the demo garden to fill the tables for a self serve plant sale. It took longer than expected. We picked up strawberry milkshakes to cool off. Nom Nom. But a sudden wave of drowsy came over both us, and we fell asleep. That was just as well because the heat was up to 84, which is quite warm for us that don't have air conditioning.

Gasp, not drink coffee?! I've cut back, but I still enjoy my early and mid morning cup.

Today is Flag Day. From Wikipedia:

"The holiday was first proposed shortly after the 1861 attack on Fort Sumter that started the Civil War. The flag flying over the fort was saved by Union soldiers during the Confederate takeover. The Fort Sumter Flag became a symbol of opposition to the Confederate rebellion. Fame transformed the flag from a fairly obscure military symbol used to identify American ships and forts into a popular symbol used by ordinary Americans to support the Union cause".

Our local Kiwanis organization puts up American flags along Main street on US holidays. They look very pretty along with red, white and blue street post flower baskets.

As usual, when I've told y'all what I am going to do..... that's right! I didn't do it!

There was a box of old bills and statements, (actually there are TWO, but I only attended to one) which I dug through and happily put many in the bag to go to the shredding place. I mean what's the reason for keeping bills from 2023? I did separate the paper parts of the bills that were blank and envelopes with windows where the address shows through, on them(stuff that had no identifying anything on them), like the last pages of Humana statements which are filled with foreign language translations. I'm not going to pay for papers full of nothing important, to be shredded, as ya gotta pay for it by the pound! 🤪 I KNOW, Tweety, that IF I paid my bills on line I wouldn't have had to go through them like I did today. But it was a good excuse for sitting down!

I also had a box into which I had flung ('flang'?) funny stuff I'd found, clipped, or from various "My Brain" notebooks where I had scribbled down something I found amusing, quotes, real odd names, bumper stickers, and a bunch of odds and ends. I found one I thought Tweety would identify with...in fact I may have already recorded it SOMEWHERE here in the daily posts:

"LAUNDRY SCHEDULE: Wash~ 40 Minutes / Dry~ 60 minutes / Put Away~ 7 -10 Business Days"

I save so many miscellaneous funny things, and I used to think that when I died, someone sure would have a lot of fun going through them. But I think it is more likely that someone would take one look at the top pages of the collection, shake their head, and toss 'em all out. Oh well! It does keep ME amused when I run across them, anyway! I'll have to put all that I find in one large Rubbermaid container to store, for me to do another 'look-through' in another couple of years. I'm a funny bunch, I know. I did find a picture I had saved to send my sister....or my brother.... a photo of an 'influencer' in a gown that had a front that consisted of little straps to cover the nips..... she had had an augmentation that, honestly, were the size of soccer balls! It was actually quite appalling looking, and it HURT me to even THINK of having something that gargantuan stuck on my chest! Some people's children, yah know??

My left hand is better and easier to use now that it is not all wrapped up to kingdom come. I've been admiring my purple index finger (still puffy, but I think not actually broken). I do have to 'watch it!' when I bend my wrist a certain way; it feels like something small has bitten me suddenly with little tiny sharp teeth!

So, I'm not going to tell y'all what I'm going to do tomorrow because we ALL know where THAT leads! Let's be surprised together!
