Hi Tweety

Stars I hope you find the hearing aids soon

Yesterday was pretty normal for me. Bird watching in the morning then lunch with dad later. After that did the laundry and the cooking for the week. Made the mistake of using all the Trader Joes taco seasoning instead of just half, and ended up with it being spicier than I expected

Today will be at church early to usher. After church driving into the city to meet my friend B to visit the National Mexican Art Museum and go to a local taco place

Will be warmer today, up to 90, no rain expected

Y'know, there used to be "burrito seasoning", too, but I never see it anywhere anymore. I guess the manufacturers think it is interchangeable with taco seasoning, and maybe it is. But I used to use burrito seasoning in soup (which I no longer make since I seldom cook anymore).

So, it's Sunday. Last night we had a long, humongous thunderstorm, and we are to expect more today, and guess what? It is supposed to "feel like" 109 degrees today. Goody, goody. I don't think I have to go out except to walk Tinker around the property several times over the course of the day. She is being very good and 'saving everything' for her outside trips; no in-house accidents except by resident pom-chi. Poor little guy is still limping after his attempt to jump up on the sofa, when his left hand leg slipped on a piece of paper and he fell backwards. Not sure if they will decide to bring him to the emergency pet clinic today or not. He doesn't whimper or yelp, but he does not put any weight on that paw. I don't feel anything broken when I feel around the area, but he may have yanked a tendon or muscle. He looks kind of sad and worried, rather than his usual smiling expression.

Okay, I have taken my after-coffee-to-wake-up-nap; I always doze off after I finish my coffee, but then I wake up and I'm awake enough to get dressed. Go figure.

If we don't do a run to the emergency vet clinic, I SHOULD apply myself to continuing the attempt to straighten up my room and continuing the hearing-aid search. Should and will are different things, as we (or at least *I*) know!

Yup, Nope, didn't do much o' nuthin' today. And I can't even find what I had done with my wall calendars that I had up in Concord! I rode out with S. to pick up the Chinese food we ordered. There were just two guys there working the restaurant, one cooking and cooking and cooking, and the guy who helped with the cooking and put the take-out orders together. That was IT! I ordered a Moo Gu Gai Pan plate and it was delicious, but about halfway through it I had to quit eating because I was SOOOOO STUFFED FULL! It was way more than I could finish in one meal, so I have tomorrow's lunch or supper waiting for me in the fridge. But WOW! I don't know if it was so good because the last Chinese meal I ate was up in Concord years back before hubby died, and it was from a very 'MEH' restaurant. This that I ate tonight, well, I stood right there and watched them cook it all up fresh, and it was go-o-o-o-o-d! As they say in the South (which I'm told Northern Florida is not a part of) I was "PLUM WALLERED" when I had to stop eating. I undid my waist button and my girls's 'support', too, cause I was squeezed by all the food I had just eaten! My torso must've expanded about two inches!

Now I am going to stretch out on the bed against my stack of pillows and watch more of The Lincoln Lawyer series on Netflix...... and BELCH! 😆

Hello all!

No Stars, that Chinese food sounded wonderful! It's always nice to get another meal out of take-out, eh? 👌

Joe, I hope the art museum was interesting, and that you had some good tacos after!

Yesterday our friend C met us here and we all loaded the instruments and ourselves and the potluck food into the car. I drove -- it was about an hour's drive, up to Wrightwood, a mountain community of 5,000 ppl, and to the site of the house jam. It was a beautiful, VERY modern and spacious house with a GORGEOUS view to the west, of mountains and more mountains! His large living room had huge floor-to-ceiling windows for that great view! He designed the house himself (he is a professional photographer, been on assignments all over the world), and wanted to hold concerts and such in that living room, and to behold the view!

We delivered our food, then set up for the jam. Jammed from 3-5, then had burgers and potluck salads and refreshments till 6, then cut into various homemade pies and voted for the best. Then we played a little more, doing a community sing (he had printed out words for everyone). Done and wrapping things up by 7-ish.

There were probably 15 or so pickers, and at least as many grinners. We got the chance to renew friendships among the pickers (found out about a few concerning health situations to add to my prayer list), and get to know a few of the grinners. I took a tour of the fabulous house -- three bedrooms (two large suites - one downstairs, one upstairs and one smaller sleeping area with three bunks), a very large office upstairs (same view as the living room), and a tiny professional recording studio tucked into a corner of the office! Then, out on the deck, was an outdoor shower, a kitchen area, a seating area, and space to even sleep outdoors. It was just an amazing residence, and decorated with many of the man's photographs. Truly a treat to see!

We got home at a decent hour, and wouldn't ya know, I couldn't fall asleep??? So I slept in this morning, and have spent a quiet day at home. I will change sheets and towels soon, after dh feeds the felines.

My cellulitis is largely gone -- itching has stopped too. I am left with a hard little nodule - I assume it's at the area of the original injury (bite or sting, whatever). So glad it is better, though!

We came home last night with one of the two Fruit of the Forest pies I'd baked, so dh should be happy about that! There were six pies entered in the "contest." I didn't know how many would be brought, so as it was just as easy to bake one as to bake two, I chose to bake two. Glad dh has one for him!

A friend saw The Odyssey, she really liked it! I went on Amazon Prime and, being the Trekkie fan I am, I paid for the first season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. So far I have watched two episodes and like it! I like it more than I did Picard. It seems to preserve more of the Star Trek "feel," to me, than Picard did. I never did watch the last season of PIcard, I suppose I SHOULD do that sometime.

That's it for now! We continue to hunker down in the A/C, in triple digit temperatures.

Have a good evening!

Good evening.

Hope the resident pet is okay.

We have good take out Chinese here. They are fast. I can order it and pick it up in 10 minutes on my way home from work.

Worked OT shift today. It sucked.
