Tweety I'm glad you're getting the time you need

Stars I know that disrupting routine can worsen symptoms of Alzheimers

Ado hope he keeps it clean going forward

Hi NJ22

Didn't bird watch yesterday due to the rain, but kept busy nonetheless. Ran some errands in the morning, including to the credit union to set up a savings account for medical expenses for the new cat. Baked some brownies from a box mix, an attempt my me to simplify things. Had lunch with dad, then drove down to the far southern suburbs where my grandmother and aunt and uncle used to live, hadn't been down there in a while and heard that one of the tornadoes struck there. Didn't see too much damage. Came home and exercised

Today will not be at church, will stay home and do the cooking instead and then in the afternoon join my friend N in visiting an old pioneer settlement in the far western suburbs. Hopefully the rain holds off

Found out from my sister that their somewhat rural neighborhood in NW Indiana is going on 5 days without electricity or water since the storms of last week. Hope that is resolved soon

Today will be in the mid 80s, chance for rain is fairly low. Definitely don't need any more rain here

The weeks just continue to whip by, don't they? Some weird kind of jet-lag going on with jerking starts and stops.

I've been awake for an hour and 15 minutes, had coffee, read the disgusting news on line, and now I am already feeling exhausted.

Going to take a nap and then see what Part II of this day brings about.

Good morning!

Hi Joe. Hope you have a nice day.

Ado, hope the son lives up to keeping things cleaner. My default is sloppy, lazy and procrastination, but I find doing a little bit every day keeps the German half in my satisfied.

I've been without electricity and it's miserable. Last time, I knew it was coming and froze a bunch of gallon baggies in the freezer and things actually stayed fresh but melted. The worst part was not having air conditioning.

Mom's bad knee prevented her from wandering much but sometimes she would forget she couldn't walk and get up to go get something or to the bathroom and fall.

I put my phone away and read last night but still stayed up later and slept later than I'd like.

Yesterday, I made lentil tacos and home made pico de gallo to top them. They were good. I burned the first batch of taco shells. I rarely make tacos and have to learn to heat them up for just a minute in the toaster oven.

I made some homemade jerk sauce and it was good on beans for lunch. With the overtime ending and the restrictive diet over, I'm going to diversify my cooking again. I've dusted off some cookbooks in my collection and will use them. There's of course a lot of free stuff online and some apps.

I go to the store often. I keep a running list on my phone. I've been the last three days in a row because I've been cooking. I average about 3 times a week. Yesterday my Google Pay was rejected at Sprouts for some reason, but it was only $7 and I ten went to the regular store where it was accepted.

Something strange going on with the G-mail site. Not sure why it doesn't come on the page with the options to go through the entries, read or reply to them. Oh well. Need to do the nap, anyway, so maybe by the time I go back to it, it will be resolved.

Rain! Actually water falling from the sky! It was brief but at least measurable. I realize that our family and friends in Indiana might not see it as the miracle we do right now. 😟

The high temp for tomorrow is forecast to be only 97 but the next day the temps go back over 100 and stay there.
