Summer school

Students Pre-Nursing

i talked to my adviser, and he said that i should take summer school. for microbio, and AP2 in the summer (taking ap 1 in the spring)

each of the summer course will be 3-4 weeks, and each at differnt time zones in the summer (ap 2 in july, and maybe micro bio in june)

do you think this is a good idea or bad...?

anyone took summer school for these courses?

are they hard?

advices?

For summer and winter, I only take courses that I know will be easy. It's a lot of work

It's work, but you're only taking 1 class at a time so you only need to focus on learning 1 subject at a time. I've taken courses over the summer, usually 2 at a time during 8 week sessions and it's been totally manageable.

I didn't find either of these courses to be hard, just incredibly time consuming. If you can devote several hours each day to class, lab, studying and homework, I think you will do fine. If you need to work and care for a family at the same time, it will be difficult.

Good luck!

Yep, I don't know. I'm trying to decide if I'm gonna take Micro and Stats over the summer. They're during the same time. Micro's 8 weeks and Stats is 6 weeks (ends 2 weeks earlier). I think I've decided that if I get all A's in the prereq's I'm taking in Spring (Anat 1, English (2nd sem.), and Soc 1) then I'll take that as a sign that I can handle it over the summer. If not, I'll slow down a bit to make sure I get good grades in the rest of my courses.

(If I do take them in the summer I'll be able to apply for Spring '10!, so I hope I can handle it!!).

I've heard that it is easier to take on fast course rather than multiple fast courses. For example, with A&P, if you take it over the summer, its like working a full time job and you can focus soley on that course. And same for micro. If you are going to be able to do that, then I'd say go for it. They would not offer these shortened classes if they were not managable.

You'll also have to live with the fact that you get no summer break! But its worth it for nursing school!!! ;)

Good Luck!!
