I wonder how many other school nurses work a summer job to make ends meet....yet a big part of the draw of school nursing is the flexibilty and weekends, holidays, & summers off?? Am I nuts!! Every summer I am tempted to stay in LTC where I could make some "real money" but I always end up going back. I like the kids (well, most of the time!) and like knowing my schedule a year in advance....
There's more to life than money, right??

hi bandaider, in the past i have worked over the summer. i have also worked at children's camp as well. thankfully, i no longer need to do this, so i can have the whole summer to catch up on household chores and get some rest. i hope you will be okay. hang with the school nursing. just remember the days when you had to work weekends and holidays and this will help you out with your decision. god bless you in whatever you decide. :heartbeat

I am tempted too. I tried, but the thought of being inside on a beautiful day or sleeping all day because I worked the night before...maybe I'll do it next summer!
