I hope someone can help me out, I need to find specific guidelines for oral suctioning to include in a work project. I have looked in several textbooks and searched the internet but I haven't found a detailed account of this procedure. Thanks.

Hi,Jude,first off do you work in a hospital? They should have a manual of procedures which should give you detailed protocols and safety procedures to follow.Check out nursing standard on line I'm sure I remember one of their CE papers on suctioning. Hope this helps.

one of the rules... dun stick an oral airway to a conscious patient...he myt roll his eyes on u, mate!!
