Studying for RNC

I'm currently studying for my RNC. My weakness is interpretation of FHM as I'm a PP nurse. Anyone have any advice? I do plan on taking a review class.

Which RNC are you taking? If you don't do L&D, then I assume you're taking MNN? If so, I don't believe there is any EFM or intrapartum stuff on it.

As far as what I did to study - not a lot. I read through a few things I was sketchy on in the Maternal-Newborn Core Curriculum (published by AWHONN, I think) like acid-base balance and some of the more obscure maternal comorbidities. Then I took the practice exam in the "Inpatient Obstetric Nurse Exam Secrets Study Guide" published by Mometrix, and for the questions I got wrong, I went back and reread those sections/rationales. That was truly about it.

Thank You Klone !!!!! I have the Core Curriculum Maternal-Newborn Nursing book. I may just study fromthat and skip the class altogether. I also have free online access to practice questions.

Yes, I'll be taking the MNN exam. No FHM or intrapartum stuff, I hope so !!!!

Have you downloaded the test booklet from the NCC website? It lists exactly what types of questions will be on the test.

No, I haven't. I will definitely do so tonight! Thank you so much !!!!!

Good luck Prn, planning to take MNN next year. Please share your experience when you pass it. I want to be able to refer back to your post when that time comes.
