Studying for Physiology

I'm just curious how each of you studied for Physiology? I had a system down for Anatomy (my school does Anatomy the first semester, followed by Physiology the next) and did pretty well with it, this time around though it's not just straight memorization and I'm looking for any tips people have to offer. Thanks!

Those two channels alone helped me immensely! I had to make sure that I was understanding everything that was being taught to me and to ask the professor for anything I didn't understand specifically. Those two youtube channels were able to give me the information in a different manner than my professor which helped. Also, I would go over the topics before going to class to have somewhat of an understanding prior so I could focus all of my attention to the professor and what he had to say and be very interactive while in class.

You'll do just fine!

There are also some great Physiology videos by Dr. Leslie Samuels that you can find on You Tube and Interactive Biology. He does a great job of explaining things in a way that's easy to remember. I highly second the recommendation above for Khan Academy's tutorials as well.

Anatomy was more rote memorization. Physiology is how it all works together. You typically learn by system (e.g. cardiac, respiratory, endocrine, neurological, etc.). You might see some things from basic chemistry pop up when you learn about the sodium/potassium pump and how it affects action potentials. Or acid-base balance when learning about how the body compensates respiratory vs. metabolic. Learning how the blood flows to the heart, through the heart/lungs and back out in to the body is very important to remember for your future Med Surg course in nursing school.
