Studying for the NCLEX

Published

Any advice or tips on how to study for the NCLEX? I've heard Kaplan is a great study tool, but I don't really want to spend that much money. Any other programs worth it, or should I just give in and spend the money on Kaplan?

Welcome to AN! Under the students tab, you will find an entire forum dedicated to NCLEX, where you can find people's personal experiences and what they've used to study.

I am completely lost at this time. I am suppose to graduate in a few weeks. We have to take this 180 question-design like the NCLEX. I FAILED IT BY 4 POINTS. I just do not no how to study any more. Does anyone have any suggestion. I can take it one more time ..if I fail I will not graduate and my life will be over!!!!!

Hi :) I wrote the NCLEX-RN for the first time yesterday and got my results today. I passed with 75 questions. I got the Hurst Review to get familiar with core content. I then read certain chapters in Saunders Comprehensive Review. I also read every chapter and answered all the questions in the Kaplan Nclex-RN premier book (except for the last test which was 265 questions). To study on the go I would use the Nclex Mastery app on my phone and UWorld. I believe that Uworld was definitely the most useful study tool I used. Especially the "Leadership & Management" question category on UWorld those questions helped me the most for my exam! Good luck and think positive :)

Thank you for the advice!!! I will definitely be getting the apps on my phone as well. Thank you again! etkRN2015

patsylee @patsylee, We also took a similar test. Does it tell you what you need to work on? The test we took told us what we need to work on and how well we did on the other subjects. You were so close! Keep positive and don't freak yourself out. Talk to the other students in your class and ask them what they are doing to pass. You've got this!

I paid $50 for the q bank online i barely used it. To be honest I bought all the popular NCLEX books and used saunders and Kaplan book the most. I feel that Lippincott Prepu is what helped me to pass. Thoses questions are the most like NCLEX I swear by it now!!!
