studying for first EC exam

Im just in need of some help. Getting ready to take Essentials of Nursing Health Safety exam. Guessing Im just nervous because its my first exam from EC courses. Not sure if I studied enough, is it enough just to use content guides and read the text, and answer the questions from CD that come with the texts or should I get the textbook study workbooks. I do have Saunders, Kaplan however this test material isnt covered. I do plan to take the practice tests for each section as well.

Thanks anyone

Your plan sounds solid. When you say practice tests, do you mean the EC practice tests, the ones for $60? If not, then I highly recommend the EC practice tests!! Good luck! :)

Lunah,

After purchasing the practice test are they online are do they come in paper form? Do you schedule ahead of time to take a test or do you finish your reading and the practice test then schedule the test? I am preparing to take NC 1 as well, still reading through all the material it seems like a never ending amount of material but its easy reading.

I paid for and scheduled my exams and purchased my practice tests at the same time. Then I'd do a read-through of my materials and take the first practice exam (which are only available online, BTW -- they can't be printed, but you have access to them for 120 days after purchase). Then I'd do more studying in my weaker area(s) and take the second practice exam, and that was usually a couple of days before I took the actual exam.

Thanks Lunah, and I wanted to congrads to you for passing CPNE! :) I plan to be in that position by next Jan. I plan to use textbooks (reading chptrs, questions at end chptrs, the CD that comes with the text, all categories that have questions on CD's like NCLEX, Knowledge questions, and the content guides from EC. After answering questions from all chapters I plan to purchase the EC practice test at end of content guide and the one for $60 to see where Im weak then re-reading the sections and answering questions. After looking through Saunders Comp. NCLEX I havent found many questions for the first two exams. Do you suggest any other study materials? I kinda feel maybe I havent used enough materials. Thanks for all of your help. :):)
