StudyGroup101

Published

Looking for some advice from people who use StudyGroup101 for EC...I just got the bundle CD that has the 8 study guides, Practice questions, etc...

and wondering where to start.

Do you print EVERYTHING off and then just read through it, jot down

notes, practice the quizzes, etc... Do you just use these practice

quizzes or do you still purchase the EC practice quizzes? Anybody

using solely these notes and not any textbooks, supplemental notes,

etc...?

Sorry for all of the questions! I have just been kind of overwhelmed.

Finally getting all my info together and trying to to find the best

ways of getting organized so that I can start studying and get this

ball rolling!!!

Thanks in advance for any comments/suggestions

I started buying these guides after I was overwhelmed trying to study for NC1. I had a college network guide and lots of textbooks too.

What worked for me was to print out each section's text files only. I stapled these together and took them to work with me. I reviewed the charts and pictures on the computer. I printed out the quizzes and did a different one each day at the end of my studying. I did the quiz in the excelsior guide and I bought the $65 practice tests too. Anything I couldn't get, I looked up in textbooks (some from my LPN program).

Basically I think I learned the most from the study guide and taking TONS of practice questions. It took me a while (like 7 weeks) but I passed with an A.

Good luck.:specs:

I'm talking about the notes from StudyGroup101. I read the Word documents on my laptop screen instead of printing hard copies of everything. I know not everyone is comfortable reading off of a screen like I am, though.

I studied a little of everything ... textbooks, Chancellor's study guides, Lisa Arends' notes, and StudyGroup101. I thought SG101's stuff was VERY comprehensive and thorough.

I usually got somewhere in the 70s on the first practice test and in the 80s on the second, and I ended up with all A's and two B's. Sounds like you're doing well! Just study the rationales for the practice tests to see where you might need any additional focus. When do you test?
