I didn't study them nearly enough. I did pass with 75 questions, but a lot of them were meds, and I didn't do well on those. I would focus especially on classes, if you can (which kinds of abx to take with meals, when to take cholesterol sequestrants, etc...).

There is a list of suffixes you can learn. I just concentrated on the major actions of each drug classification and learned the most important drug for each class. I did not take the time to get more detailed than that.

Try learning the different categories of meds and its side effects versus learning each med individually...learn the categories...good luck to you..I had 85 questions and I passed and very blessed to have done so...

like everyone else, definitely just focus on the major classes/categories of drugs. look at the s/e, what they are used for, contraindications, etc. chances are you will never have heard of the drug that you are being tested on, but being able to at least try and identify it is helpful.

Honestly, I didn't study meds and I got about 10-15 med questions, I'm assuming I did okay because I passed in 75 questions, but I only recognized 2-3 meds. My girlfriend studied tons of meds, but didn't recognize one on the test, she passed in 75 too.

I'm not saying don't study them, but don't stress them either.

I recommend "Pharmacology made insanely easy." It gives pictures and ways to remember drug classes and specific meds. I loved it!
