I appreciate your help! I was hoping that I would be able to receive grants, but I do understand that second degrees are more limited in options.
You may still be able to find grants or scholarships through private means, such as institutions that provide scholarships for adults returning for another degree. I know some areas have funding to help those going into certain in-demand occupations. In my city, the local workforce development company actually helps pay for attending nursing programs if you make under $25/hr.
Have you applied to your nursing program yet? When you are ready to apply, ask to speak to financial aid before you do. Some schools offer their own scholarships but they base their eligibility on your FAFSA. Schools are required by law to let you talk to financial aid before you apply, so be sure to ask! Even if someone isn't available on the day you come in, you can always ask for a separate appointment with them.

Hey everyone,
I am not not sure if this is the correct discussion board to post this in. However, I will be applying to an accelerated nursing program in the near future. I wanted to know your personal experiences on taking out loans for nursing school and what options worked best for you! For my first bachelor's degree, I was fortunate enough since I did not have to take out any loans. I'm not quite sure where the best place to get loans/financial aid would be. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
