I will start by apologizing as I am sure this has been asked a million times! I did some searching, but did not come up with any useful info so I'm going to ask again here.
For all of you seasoned ICU nurses: I am a senior nursing student in an ADN program, I am graduating this May. I'm starting my "management" rotation (final clinical) in the ICU. It is a general ICU, no pediatrics. I am trying to get prepared for what I need to know going in. I know I will have patients on vents, lots of cardiac drips, basically the sickest of the sick.
What should I study-brush up on-make cheat sheet info for- etc. to prepare me for this experience? I don't want to go in cold, but if I was to try and study everything I may need to know, I would be reading my entire med/surg book!
Thank you in advance!

Brush up on hemodynamic monitoring, ventilators, vasoactive meds. There is a great website http://www.icufaqs.org that you can learn a lot from.
