Stressing and deciding on Nursing classes

Anatomy alone is a very time consuming course. I took it by itself and still found it challenging.

you can do it. believe me i took harder classes than that all at the same time and made it but not straight As. if you go to school full time you should be ok.

I'm sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong section.

Anyway, I am going to start my second year at St. Kate and I want some insight about some nursing prerequisite classes.

I am planning to take Intro to Mircobiology, Human Anatomy, and Statistics this coming fall 2010.

Is this a good idea to take all these at the same time?

I heard from other classmates that these classes are hard and requires a lot of reading/studying.

Any comments of suggestions would be very much appreciated!

Yes they are all hard, and yes they will all require a lot of studying. Is "hard" a deal breaker for you? Sometimes it makes me kick into overdrive and pay a little closer attention to my time management, I can be a little lazy when I have too much free time, but you know yourself the best.

I'm in almost the exact schedule (2 lab sciences and stats) plus I'm doing the CNA class. I also have 4 kids that I homeschool from 9-2 M-F. So, I spend ALL of my evenings doing school, and ALL of my weekends doing school work. I simply don't have day-time hours open. That said, I'd estimate every other week I can squeeze in a night off- I work ahead every chance I get, but I don't always get to spend time re-reading the large assignments (something I otherwise like to do). All that said, to give you an idea of my grades under this schedule- I'm averaging 89-91 in chemistry, 86-88 in AP2, 90-91 in stats, and 97-98 in CNA. I have never taken college algebra or biology but I do have a prior bachelor's degree in social science.

I took A&P2, micro, nutrition, and psych all while working full time....and got all As. You just need to prioritize and stay focused.

Honestly, this is a question that no one can answer for you. Whether or not that kind of course load will be completely overwhelming to you will depend on your comfort level with the material, your background, your study habits, your stress management skills, time management skills, etc., and no one else's.

If you need further assistance other than your classmates' insistence that they are all challenging and time consuming, then you might try talking to an academic advisor.
