strep throat

I have strep throat and just started antibiotics on friday 11/28/03. How long before I am not contagious? How long before I can go into a operating room and scrub into surgery? Would I be able to scrub in on monday 12/1/03?

I hope someone can help me with this answer.

Thanks,

which antibiotic? usually when you have no fever or overt symptoms for 24 hours and you have a filtered mask, you should be ok.

Amoxicillin 875mg. I haven't had a fever but i'm starting to get symptoms. I have supposably had this for a while before i started showing signs. I'm not coughing or sneezing so I think I would be ok but I just want to make sure. I don't want to hurt the patients.

You will be fine to work, you will feel like crap if you don't cover the symptoms. The doseage is correct, it is the right drug to do the job. My favorite cold stuff to buy is "the drousy" kind like tylenol complete. Now that claratin D is OTC it shoud be ok.

Don't forget the spray or cepacol, and heat up the chicken soup in the OR lounge !
