StonyBrook Accelerated Nursing Program

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone here is attending this school or is applying for this years acceptance. I applied in October 2007 but have not been contacted for any information at all. They told me that they will mail out acceptance letters by January. Since it is very close to January and they have not called me for an interview I am kind of worried.

As a more general question, what GPA's did people have in here and were accepted to the accelerated nursing programs, either at Stony or another place?

My Biochemistry GPA is 3.06 with A's in all prereqs. I have been volunteering at the hospital as a research assistand and also worked as a lifeguard for 6 years with the CPR/life support certs.

Thanks

Try posting this to the NY nurses forum... you might get a better response over there.

Are there other accelerated option programs where you can apply? I wouldn't put all your eggs in just one basket.

Have you met the program coordinator? It never husts for them to know that you are very interested.....

Best of luck...

Hello ICanHeal,

Don't worry about not getting an interview because THEY DO NOT INTERVIEW!! They lied. I am in the program now and I too was waiting for an interview. I was accepted without one.

My Belle,

1) How do you like the accelerated program?

2) Do you have time for a part-time job?

3) How did they contact you when you got accepted? Letter, e-mail, etc?

4) When did you find out your were accepted? Dec, Jan, Feb?

5) Is the program really that intense? Do you have free time to relax and watch TV?

Thanks
