As a male, I'm likely to shave my beard. Some people are telling me to wear a suit but I think that is overkill, I'm probably just going in chinos, button-down shirt, and v-neck sweater. In other words church clothes

they don't notify us that we weren't accepted?? there has been no communication at all since I submitted the application - i would think they would at least tell us to move on.

@chanuts me too, it sucks. I have no idea how they choose people since I know numerous people with outstanding applications who have not been chosen. People slip through the cracks I guess. Better to know that way we can move on and apply to other programs. are you a current stony student?

@tsap4323nope, not currently a stony student. i'm a post-bacc student (career switcher from the business world). i wonder if my pre-reqs didn't meet their standards - wish they would let us know. maybe i'll try emailing them and seeing if i get a response.

@chanuts I'm also second career (military career). I'm 25.. maybe they want younger students lol. You can try!

I’m 44 and on my 3rd career and I got an interview, so I don’t think age has anything to do with it. Unfortunately, they don’t let anyone know what they thought of the application essay and LORs and they play an important role. Good luck to you ?

This is my second year trying and nothing (SB is my #1 choice). I'm an older applicant looking to switch careers because I fell in love with nursing where I work. Unfortunately, my stats aren't as competitive as the many other talented folks here and figure that may be why I'm not receiving offers.

I've applied to a few other places and am waiting to hear back (fingers crossed). But, I do want to say congrats to those who are advancing! Best of luck on your interviews. I believe you all will make amazing nurses!

I just got off the phone with the School of Nursing and the lady on the phone said interview emails are still being sent out and can be sent out until March, when the decisions are being made. I confirmed with her that it was the interview emails that I am talking about and that this is for the Basic BSN program.

I know a previous post said that they sent them all out. I haven't heard back myself but if what the lady said is true, let's keep our hopes up!

At this point, I’m assuming that those of us who don’t hear back by Friday evening aren’t being considered at all since interviews start on Tuesday.

@PitlessAvocado thats interesting. I definitely called and spoke to the SON, and they said they have all been sent out.

Yeah, that's odd that they told you something different... We'll keep our hopes up and if we don't hear back, then we don't hear back. It is what it is. Unless we receive an email that says all students have been selected or that we were denied, we'll keep our hopes up.
