Stony Brook Basic BSN Class of 2022

Hey there ? would you mind sharing your stats from last year?

I applied to the Basic BSN as well as the accelerated BSN, but I'm really set on the accelerated program. I applied to both about a month ago and waiting has been such a drag.

Hey there! Sure! Last year I had a 3.64 cumulative GPA with a 3.00 science gpa.

This year, I have a 3.69 cumulative gpa with a 3.12 science gpa.

I know that they typically look for a 3.5 average science gpa and a 3.6/7 cumulative, but it really depends on your overall application! I have heard people who had 4.0 gpas who got rejected, and people with 3.0s that got accepted. Having great letters of recommendation and essay can definitely boost you up.

My name is Emily and I will be applying for this program in December. I have finished all my perquisites and am currently in an 11 month LPN program. I will graduate in May. I applied to the program last year and did not get in. Hoping to get in got next fall!

im also applying again. I applied last year and also got an interview but scored too low on the math test, which was annoying (I was too nervous) and didn’t get in. I was really close!! So I’m trying again now that I know what to expect. I also applied to SCCC as a backup ?

my overall is 3.6 and science is 3.22.

I finished last semester with a cumulative GPA of 3.47 and, if I calculated correctly, a science GPA of 3.5. I’m doing very well this semester, though, so I’m hoping both GPAs are higher by the time all is said and done.

Also, I know that for the writing sample and math exam during the interview, you get 25 minutes for each portion, but how many questions are usually included in the math section?

I don’t remember exactly, maybe 10-15? They are pretty straight forward and basic math. To put into perspective, the one that took me the longest was probably a long division question.
