I did the online "application" and received an email from the board saying someone would contact me. That was weeks ago! Also, I had got a job in the mean time and the web site said I have to cease working immediately but someone from the board said to talk to the lady when she calls me when I asked her to be sure. So I've continued working. I'm so anxious I am messing something up! I don't want to draw attention to myself bc I'd like to buy as much time as I can to get through a family even the end of the month but I don't know what to do.How long did it take you to initially hear from them after you self reported?

Each state handles it differently. In Texas you can work until you sign the contract, and depending on where you are in treatment determines when you can resume working as a nurse.

I applied for VDAP while at Bradford, but other than I making the phone call- they completed paperwork ect. It wouldn't hurt to call the board and ask to speak to VDAP coordinator. When you report you are required to cease working. Just by applying for VDAP, you are admitting you have a problem that affects your ability to practice nursing safely. I am sorry..... I know all of this is scary, frustrating ect.
