Staying Motivated

Currently, I am in my second of six semesters in Walden University's MSN in education, and I keep finding myself unmotivated. I've been pushing off assignments pretty much until the day they're due, and find myself just distracted when I do sit down to work on them. Example: right now I should really be working on the paper that I have due tomorrow instead of goofing off here on allnurses or on Facebook.

Sometimes, I think part of the reason I'm not motivated is because the classes I'm in are still the core courses and not the actual education classes yet (and I absolutely hate nursing research classes, which is what I'm taking at the moment). That, and I think I'm getting burned out from working full time, taking up to 75 hours of call per week, and taking classes full time.

So for those who have found themselves in my shoes, what did you do to get yourself back on the right track?

I'm in the same situation right now. I am taking theory and statistics.. I absolutely HATE the theory class and every second I spend working on the ridiculous projects assigned is a massive struggle. I am also working full time and I am just really tired of studying on my days off. Like you, I am hoping that next semester will be better. I think once we get into classes that are interesting and more directly apply to practice....... we will become motivated once again. I am really hopeful that it is just the class this semester that has me so unmotivated.

So.... I don't really have any advice..... but I feel your pain. Hang in there....it has to get better.
