State to state

I am currently working as a med-surg-tele nurse in North Carolina but my family and I want to move back to Maine (where I have never worked as an RN). I would like to make the transition as smooth as possible. In other words, I would like to secure a job in Maine before I leave North Carolina. Any advice on how to do this will be greatly appreciated.

First, I would check with the hospital system you work at. Some are national, like HCA and Kaiser. It is possible you can transition if there is an opening at one of their hospitals where you want to move.

If that doesn't work out, I would Google to find out what hospital systems are in that area and start filling out online applications. I'm not quite sure how they manage remote interviews, but I'm sore most of the bigger ones will have a way to do that.

Best of luck!

Apply for Maine RN license. Start networking through professional sites such as LinkedIn. Good luck.
