Starting OSU's NP Program in August, Anyone Else?

Hi y'all, anyone else out there starting the MSN/NP program at OSU this fall? We just had orientation but I only met a few people, and my first semester is all online classes so I'm trying to make some connections/study buddies so we can help each other out :) Are there any facebook groups to join or anything? I'm doing the women's health track.

Thanks!

Hi SaraRN,

I am hoping to start the NP program in the fall of 2016. BSN-MSN (NP). I will be going part-time if I decide to go back to school. I finished the BSN program in August. I wish you luck.

Before jumping into a NP program, I would urge students to do their own research on the demand for NPs and discount what admissions staff is pushing. They just want to put axxxxs in seats. I saw a chart the other day that showed most NP salary were below national averages. Also, keep in mind that that most positions are asking for more years of experience.

Good luck!

I applied for the FNP for next fall. Is the NP program as competitive as the BSN program?

Just saw this RussianBear. The FNP program seems to be getting more competetive each year, especially the online program. Both are equally rigorous programs, and the online option allows for a bit more flexibility with schedule. One of my good friends was finally accepted on her third application year. She has a 4.0 GPA and a few years of RN experience, so my advice is to also make sure your personal statement and recommendations are strong, and prepare for the interview. Good luck! I'm sure at this point you have actually already applied, I hope it went well for you.

I was accepted into the OSU program starting August 2016.

Me too... Which one?

Is anyone starting next week with the online FNP program?
