Hello, all!
This is my first entry on All Nurses, so hopefully I'm doing this right.
Let me just get straight to the point:
I am starting the first semester of my BSN program a week from tomorrow. I am beyond excited, as this is what I've been working toward for years now. However, after a bit more Holiday weight gain than I would have hoped, I'm worried my scrubs aren't going to fit me! They were on the smaller side when I tried them on - 15 pounds ago!!!
Today I ordered a new pair one size up, but was informed that they cannot get them to me until the end of my first week! My school requires that we wear our scrubs for all classes (even just lectures the first week), and what's more, the first day is PICTURE DAY.
To be honest, I am really anxious and upset over this. I'm going to have to wear scrubs that are skin tight, show every roll, and look like they're suffocating me (how embarrassing will this be? I already want to crawl under a rock)! I want to feel confident and comfortable, especially since I will be meeting the people I'm going to spend the next two years with. I don't want my fellow student's first impression of me to be this.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If anyone knows of any good methods for stretching out scrubs I would be so, SO grateful.
And, no, I cannot go to a medical supply store and pick up similar scrubs because my school has their own scrubs that are embroidered with the school name. We have to order from the school, no exceptions.
p.s. I'm going to be low-carbing it this week to help shed some of the extra weight, but it won't be enough to get me back to where I was.
Thank you so much in advance!!!

Can you reach out to other students and perhaps borrow? Especially from those who may have just graduated. Other than that, there isn't much you can do.

Can try washing and wearing the scrubs while they are wet. This may stretch the fabric. Rose Queen has a great idea with contacting graduated students. Can also try a student in another higher level that may not need to wear scrub on same day.
