Starting in the fall...study advice?

Okay, So I start my program in the fall of this year and since its been a good 2-3 years since I've taken anatomy I was hoping any current nursing students or current nurses could tell me what they would recommend brushing up on before starting the program. Like should I just review specific body systems or should I also brush up on microbiology and patho or what? I had a B in A&P 1 but an A in micro and A&P 2 so part of me feels like I'll be fine as is and the other part of me is completely terrified. So I was hoping someone could give me some sort of advice on their experience and what they would recommend. (sorry for rambling lol)

Ahoy there mate! Congrats on your acceptance. if you really want to do something before starting I may suggest doing a review of all body systems

i would start to look up some basic pharmacology drugs, like colace, digoxin, and also review physiology. I also would maybe just start thinking about nursing care plans, these are important to what you will be doing as a nurse. GOOGLE NANDA, a couple easy ones are Impaired Gas Exchange, and Acute Pain. Good luck to you:)

First of all, I wouldn't stress too much too soon...there will be plenty of reason/time for that later! haha If you're just dying to do something though, the books titled "_________ Made Incredibly Easy" help a LOT with hemodynamics, ABGs, etc. They have one on just electrolytes and they're all very helpful and easy to learn from. Also, you could learn classes of drugs (inotropes, vasodilators, beta blockers, etc) and what they do. Don't go cray cray with the exact names just yet, but learning the classes could help a lot. Pharmacology is usually just a little class, but if you don't pass it, you're toast:yes:

Otherwise, chill and enjoy what's left of the last true vacation you'll have for a couple years! haha
