Starting my ADN program in MAY '16

Published

Hey Hey! I'm new to this nursing blog, but i've been an LVN for about 4 years now. I'm currently working on the med/surg unit at one of the #1 Trauma Centers in So Cal. Im excited to begin the next step of my nursing career and earn my ADN. From home health, to registry, to being full-time at a hospital...I've learned so much about myself as a nurse. Being a young black man, you kinda walk into nursing with your guard up because you know its predominantly a female-ran field and there aren't too many people like you, in comparison to others. After mastering Foley Catheters, vital signs, enemas, maintenance ivf's, cleaning poop, making beds, medication administration, and basic assessments....ITS TIME FOR THE RN ROLE.:sneaky: I am pleased to announce that I will be attending Stanbridge College in irvine starting May '16. Is there anyone else planning to attend or already attending this school?

Hi there!

Congrats. I've been an LVN for the same amount of time too! I am hoping to start Stanbridge in May as well. I am waiting to hear about acceptance. Exciting stuff! [emoji4]

Congrats!! :-)

I think medicine benefits by adding nurses with a greater variety of backgrounds and experiences.

Good luck!

I know, right! Super exciting. I'm a nervous wreck while awaiting acceptance, but I'm positive and prayerful. I'm glad I was able to find at least ONE person starting along with me. Lol I'll definitely be posting an update as soon as I hear the news. Good luck to you as well!

Absolutely! Well seasoned nurses(LVN's) HERE WE COME. :sneaky:

Lol, I'm nervous as well, but you're right, thinking positively is the way to go! I called today and the directors are still finalizing things. I'm glad to have found someone too. It's seems like there aren't many forums on Stanbridge. I'll post my update the second I find out!
