  1. So, about the pre req's. I didn't have any transferable credits so I literally started from the bottom. I have my LVN license, which will benefit me at the start of core nursing courses. But I've taken all 13 pre-req's at WCU. I don't think you'll have a problem transferring credits as long as they are still current and I believe it depends on the institution you completed the courses at. They're pretty flexible about that, as it is a very expensive program and they want to help their students as much as they can, financially. In terms of working and going to school, I work full time (3x12hrs/wk and every other weekend) and I'm managing a full time school schedule. It's all about your personal situation. I can't afford to switch to part time, and per diem isn't even an option for me lol. I've heard success stories from alumni who worked full time throughout the whole program, however, I've also heard stories entire students who had to either quit or switch to part time...but came out with their BSN sooooo make wise decisions when it comes to your employment. I want to be a testimony to incoming students because ANYTHING is possible. Hope this helps.
  2. Hello there. Yes, I am in the middle of my BSN program at WCU-OC. It has been a great experience so far. If you're willing to make a few sacrifices, work hard and tirelessly, then you'll be good to go in this program. I start CORE in October, just finishing up my last 2 classes this term. If you have any questions feel free to respond to my post. Good luck!
  3. I didn't get in. That schools full of (you know what). I scored above and beyond what was required on the Accuplacer. 4+ years experience under my belt. Awesome presentation at the interview and nothing. They found other "more qualified candidates". good luck to whoever attends this college. They only have 30 seats sooooo. I definitely don't wanna believe that my skin color had anything to do with it. Needless to say, I'm over that situation and on to starting west coast next month for my bachelors. I have the means to pay monthly and I'll have my bachelors at the end as opposed to just an associates. The sky's the limit for me. Lol you'll be okay though nurse larios. There's several options to use to get where you wanna be. That situation didn't discourage me at all. In fact I completed the enrollment process the same day I got rejected lol. They were overly apologetic, but I'm thinking "why are you sorry?" Sorry that such a great candidate couldn't get in? Ohhhhhh ok no worries lol. Keep me posted
  4. Hi Ms Higgins. My names Shawn and I'm looking forward to starting west coast university in OC for their LVN-BSN program. Have you started your program yet?

  10. I spoke with my rep and he's still clueless as to why the process is taking so long. Idk what's going on guys.
  11. No I haven't received one today, but the last email I received said that today is the day we'll be notified.
  12. Same here. My email said today I should get a response. Fingers still crossed. Maybe they'll send a letter in the mail
  13. Any luck with acceptance? Today's the day

  15. Right. They're telling us that ALL applicants will be notified on Friday, but you've received acceptance already. So I'm sure you can imagine the frustration lol. Ok ladies, let's just wait it out until Friday. My rep still believes I'm a good candidate so gotta be patient with that in mind.
