HI!
One of the requirements for the visa screen certificate is a CGFNS certificate or you passed the NCLEX. You should pass any one of those then you file for a visa screen certificate. And if you want to get as soon as possible in the US, try to look for employers in the east coast like New York or New Jersey.
There are others in this site who can be of help to you.

I would skip the CGFNS exam and have them put the money towards your processing for Visa Screen. If you go with NY, they can use the same documents for the credentials verification that are needed for Visa Screen.
And I woukld submit all as soon as possible, do not wait until you have avtually taken an exam. You are looking at minimum time of four months from the time that you pass the English exams, as well as NCLEX.
You will not get sponsorship until you have passed some of the exams, you do not apply to the Embassy, the hospital or agency needs to petition for you then there are steps to be followed. You will eventually need to take all of the documents, with the Visa Screen Certificate, to the US Embassy when you go for your interview.

There are nursing agency here in UK offering FREE NCLEX review and exam, FREE greencard sponsorship, FREE accomodation for the first 2-3 months but NO sign-in Bonus and I am tied to the agency and hospital for 2-3 years contract. What do you think is the better way to go?

I passed CGFNS Exam last Nov 12,2003 and I received result by mail on 15 January 2004 and Dec 30, 2003 via online CGFNS application status. I took IELTS exam and passed last March 27,2004, received result after 2 weeks. IELTS forwarded my result to CGFNS,too. Then, I received CGFNS Certificate effective/dated 21 April 2004 by mail on the first week of May.
I have been applying for possible USA hospital placement since then. Now, I am for possible interview and the agency is advising me to start my application for Visa Screening (which will be use for 5 years before expiration).:)
Stay away from agencies, especially in the UK.
Every nurse that I have talked to from there and has gone to the US has had major problems.
If you are paying, why should you need an agency? What are they doing for you? Have you even researched the hospital? Do your own work and leave out the agency. They're being paid, either by you or the hospital. Wht shouldn't you get the money?
