Start classes on 29th...still no support!!!

Do what you know is right for you and the rest will follow in time. Sounds like Mom already knows you're following your heart and thinks it's a good choice. By succeeding you'll show the doubters you were right all along. Best of luck with school.

I was just thinking about this exact topic about an hour ago. When I was younger I was really interested in becoming a veterinarian, and later I became interested in becoming a neonatologist. I did some research on nursing and eventually realized that I'd make a better nurse than doctor!

As excited as I was, I was really disappointed when the initial reaction of many of my family and friends was "Why don't you just be a doctor? They make much more than nurses do." :stone

My mama and siblings are supportive but that's about it. Everybody else turns their nose up at my decision and thinks I'm making a big mistake... Even my mama has beat around the bush and tried to persuade me to go to med school. Like you said, at the end of the day, we all know just how far we can and want to go. This is a MAJOR life decision that should be up to you and only you! Support would be nice, but you can make it without it! :rckn:

YOU are the best judge of what you can do and what you want to do. It would be nice to have the support, but you can't always find it. Keep your dream in your heart and you will achieve what you put your mind to. Know that the hard work pays off, and if you are not willing to put your energy into this, stop now. You can do whatever you WANT to do.
