when to start applying?

Can I start applying for jobs after I finish my training? Or do I have to wait until after I take my state test?

In my opinion, its best to wait after you take your state test & your name appears on your state Nurse Aide Registry, or Board of Nursing Website. I know when I finished my CNA program, I immediately applied to a bunch of places and they basically told me "come back when you pass your test & get your CNA certification #".

Where I live they will hire you with out the training and just expect you to get the training within a year or so of employment.

Personally I chose to wait until I passed the state test last week. I did not want to put in an app and get a call back and say " I failed get back to me later". That would look very bad. And it happens, people fail for whatever reason. Good luck
