staff teaching

i need some help. i found my weakness! i can't built a foundation to freaking teach! i started at a new work place at an assisted living in california. each month i am required to do some continuing education. i am in charge of doing all the teaching since i am the only nurse in the bldg. so many nurses had their hands in the training books it is disorganized. this month i have to do bloodborne pathogens. there is so many resources online i don't know where to start. i was thinking about simplifying it into a couple of pages and do a short quiz at the end. i cannot purchase any training kits because of budgets issues, so for now i'm on my own. any recommendations? can anyone email me some attachments?

    Try the CDC website. I ALWAYS include references, even on posters, so that staff knows the information is reliable. The CDC website (and maybe your state health dept) have educational resources that you can download and print. Invest in a text on teaching strategies, like Fuzzard's. There are plenty out there and they are budget friendly, especially if you buy used. I bought my own as "job security".

    If you start looking online for training tips (for ANY industry) you will find a lot that can be made to fit your purposes. Bob Pike is an example, but their newsletter is $200 + per year. Very well done however.
